Fall Book Page Wreath

Are you lovin' the book page wreaths as much as I am?

There are so many variations which are all fabulous, the hard part was choosing which style to make.

I settled on the accordion fold.

The most time consuming part is folding all the pages!

I started with a cardboard circle (use any cardboard you may have lying around the house, perhaps a cereal box). Trace a circle on the cardboard with a dinner plate and then use a smaller plate to trace a circle inside your dinner plate circle.

Your inner circle is the guideline, glue the book pages around the circle with the edge of each accordion folded page on the inner circle. Go around again gluing pages in all the spaces to fill out the wreath. I then cut 2-3" off my remaining book pages and kept gluing them on, making the wreath fuller and fuller until I was satisfied with the look.

I mixed up a strong cup of coffee (because by this time I needed it - just kidding) dipped in my paint brush and lightly touched the edges of the paper to give them that aged look.

For the center I dipped about 10 coffee filters in the coffee, squeezed out the excess and then put them in the oven (170 degrees) for a few minutes to dry out.

Once dried I scrunched them up to wrinkle them more, then nipped them in the center (so they formed a triangular shape) and glued them down one by one to the middle of the circle. The paper star was something from my stash but you can get creative with what you put in the centre!

I decorated the wreath with artificial fall leaves, acorns, ribbon and a cute "Fall" super mini pennant that I made with scrapbook paper and twine.

All in all I'd say this project cost me about $1-$2 dollars, tops, since the book was something I was going to throw out.

I'm thrilled with how it turned out!
