Scrapbook Paper Halloween Tree

Here's a little paper tree I created over the weekend.
It's so simple to make you could have a collection of them in different heights put together in an afternoon - and it's kid friendly also! (Just have the paper pre cut).

You can purchase paper tree forms at most craft stores but I figured it's much cheaper to make your own out of cardboard, cardstock or even file folders like I used.

The 2 sides are at 10.5" and the bottom is 5". I put 2 file folders together and cut out my triangles - I ended up with 4 triangles, keep the extra one in case you make more than one tree!
I attached the triangles together with masking tape.

I cut strips of paper 1" x 4" & 1/2" x 4" (although in places you'll need to trim shorter than 4" to make them fit, you'll see what I mean when you get going with it).

Then curl the strips with a pen or pencil.

I used double sided tape to attach the paper strips. For the first row I attached 2 strips of double sided tape, one at the very bottom and one about an inch above. Attach your first row then add another strip of double sided tape about an inch above and keep going.
When you get to the top trim the paper on an angle to fit the pointed top. Repeat for the other 2 sides of the triangle and you're done!

This tree would look great with double sided scrapbook paper. I had intended to use it but our Michael's doesn't cary much halloween paper.

Perhaps I'll make a Christmas one too, I know I have double sided christmas paper on hand.
