Welcome to my blog!

Hello to all the readers I am hoping to have in the future!
I have been wanting to start a crafting blog for a couple of years now, I didn't think I'd have the time to upkeep a blog - I'm still not sure that I do!
I guess starting one is a good way to find out!
I hope to post tutorials on all the projects that I make, most of my inspiration comes from other peoples blogs - there are quite a few that I love to check weekly.
There are alot of ideas out there for every season & occasion and hopefully I can inspire some of you to create as well.

Here is a welcome sign that I made last night.

I made one of these signs last year as well, which I have hanging in my dining room.

These signs are really easy to make. I wish I had taken pics of the process.
The wood was a toll painted sign that I purchases at Goodwill, it had a funky christmas scene on it with the classic pinks, reds and powder blues...yuck!
I spray painted it black, distressed it with sandpaper and then lightly painted it with metallic gold craft paint.
I just printed the words in a font that I liked on a plain white piece of card stock and trimmed it to fit the shape of my wood. I roughed up the edges a bit with sandpaper.
Then I used mod podge to adhere the card stock to the wood and let dry.
Once dry I put more mod podge over the top and let dry again.
I then watered down some dark brown craft paint and painted right over the top of my card stock, I let it dry for a few seconds and then wiped it down with a cloth - to remove more of the brown paint try using a damp cloth.
You can embellish however you like.
I made flowers out of scrapbook paper by cutting a 2 - 3 inch circle then cutting the circle into a spiral (like a spring or coil) and then wrapping the spiral in to a rosette starting with the outside of the spiral. I also cut leave shapes out of scrapbook paper as well.
I glued everything on with hot glue and then put another layer of mod podge on as well, even over the flowers to harden them.
Add buttons, twine whatever you like!

Imagine, Improvise & Invent!
