Glass Christmas Trees

Happy Weekend Everyone!
Christmas crafting is in full swing for everyone by now and I am enjoying the crafting season as well.
I love the color turquoise and am trying to work it into my Christmas decor.
Here is my latest turquoise creation.
Glass Christmas Trees

And here is how I put them together.
What you will need for the project:
  • Styrofoam cones or stack trees.
  • Craft paint
  • Brush
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Glass bowl fillers (the ones that are flat on the bottom).
The process is so simple.
  • Paint the styrofoam, let dry
  • Glue on the glass

I glued the glass on using a brick laying technique. The second row started at the seam of two glass pieces, not directly above the one below it. Sometimes this is hard to keep up because not all of the glass pieces are the same size.

But just go with it, it will turn out fine. Other than the constant repetition of gluing on the glass, this project is super easy!

  27. GORGEOUS! I shared this on a Facebook page :) Love the stacked look, but I've got a couple of plain cones I might try this with, too.

  28. Thanks so much Carla!
I didn't purchase the trees myself so I'm not sure where to get them. They are called Stack Trees. They actually come with a base as well but I liked them without. I would have figured Michaels would carry them. Styrofoam Brand makes them but I don't know if you can purchase directly from their website.

  36. wow this looks stunning and so effective. I also love the colour too - love all the blue/green tones and this is just a perfect accessory.

Not sure if styrofoam is easy to find in the UK - we tend to use something polystyrene which, I think, is slightly different. I've seen loads of sites in the States use it and come up with some stunning home decor.
