I have been making yorkshire pudding whenever I cook a beef roast for years. This is my Mom's recipe and it's so simple, yet to die for!
Yorkshire Pudding
Ingredients
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1 cup milk
drippings from beef roast
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 Fahrenheit.
Have milk & eggs at room temperature before mixing.
Use wire whisk to mix all ingredients except beef drippings until smooth.
Grease muffin pan with Pam, pour teaspoon of beef drippings into each muffin tin.
Place muffin tin in oven for 2 mins to heat up beef drippings. Remove muffin tin, pour in mixture. Bake at 400 Fahrenheit for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 375 for 20 minutes.

They look delicious! And I've made them for years, but without the beef drippings. I call them Popovers. How could I have gone this long as a Yorkshirephile and not have known that my popovers were so close to Yorkshire Pudding?? :-)

Yummm. I love Yorkshire puddings. I have a friend from England who sent me a Yorkshire pudding pan. I love it because it's shallower and wider and allows for more crispiness on the outside. I'm going to try your recipe next.

ReplyDeleteWe, too, always make Yorkshire pudding with our roast.

ReplyDeleteThat looks so good. I never knew what was in yorkshire pudding. Thanks for sharing the recipe at DIYbyDesign.
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious!! Stupid question, do they collapse when you take them out of the oven?
ReplyDeleteI love Yorkshire Puddings! They're so delicious. Yours are so beautiful. Any tips on keeping them from collapsing?
ReplyDeletethey will always collapse a little bit, but you are probably not heating your oil hot enough when you pour the batter in.
DeleteThanks for the recipe. Although I've heard of yorkshire pudding I've never made it. Is it more like a muffin than a pudding?
ReplyDeleteI love yorkshire puddings. I'll have to give this recipe a go.

That looks so good, they do sound like pop overs, I bet the beef drippings add a ton of flavor though. Will have to try this next time I make a roast. I found you via the My Girlish Whims link party.

I've been making it for years too - the key for me is to make sure the pan is really hot and the batter is really cold. Somehow that always makes them rise really well.
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower on Linky.
