Warning!!! Picture overkill, I was camera happy with this one!
I'm so please with how this witch hat turned out!
I started with a hat from the dollar store and a child's halloween skirt, also from the dollar store.
I used a seam ripper (scissors would work just as well) and separated the seam on the skirt.
Then (still using the seam ripper) I separated the orange tule from the rest of the skirt.
So Pretty!
I hot glued the orange tule to the brim of the hat.
I also seperated the black tule and cut it into strips about 1 foot wide and folded them (or bunched them!) to about 3" wide and hot glued them (I ended up with about 5 separate pieces), evenly spaced, around the brim of the hat.
With the rest of the material I cut it into 2" strips and rolled the fabric into rosettes to attach to the brim of the hat.
I cut 1 1/2 inch strips of scrapbook paper in different designs and curled it with a pencil and attached to the hat with hot glue in several spots.
I also had some halloween chip board pieces that I picked up last year on clearance at Michaels. These came in handy for decorating the hat.
Here is the result of my camera happiness!
...and then I added a couple of buttons.
...and then I got super camera happy!
