I love Adirondack chairs, I'd like to
have one in every color.
I have 2 child size Adirondack chairs
that my Dad built for the kids, they have
been around for several years
now and the red paint is slowly
wearing off -- time for a refresh.
Here they are, fading away....
And here they are now after a fresh coat
of beautiful pastel yellow paint.
They are all ready for the upcoming summer season!
Sorry for the harsh pics, it's super sunny
here today and
even though I'm not complaining
about the sun, it sure
makes it hard to take good pics outside.
I'm sure you'll see these babies
again later on in the year when
I have my garden planted.
Here are some lovely Adirondack chairs to swoon over....

Image Source I have two more adult size Adirondack chairs that my hubs built, they are in need of a little repair and a fresh coat of paint too. I've had them painted a bright turquoise for the last couple of years and I still love the color so I think I'll keep them this color again this year. Here they are while they wait for their refresh! |
We are going on V-cay in a few
days so they'll have to
wait until we get back!

Adirondack chair building plans!

Yes, I love those chairs too. My father built me a few of them too. I lived with them in the 'natural' wood color for a few years then saw on TV where a lady painted her's in black and white spots. (like a cow) Very very cute. So I got my paint brush out and painted them to look like cows. My father almost had a fit when he found out I painted the chairs. But when he saw them he had to admit they looked very good in the back yard. Now my chairs are painted a pretty aqua. They are in my sister's yard now. She has a big pool and we do not.
ReplyDeleteFor outdoors sitting there is nothing better than adirondack chairs! We have 2 on the front porch and 2 more in the garden area. The ones in the garden are in desperate need of refinishing! You've given me the inspiration to do this! Great color that you used!
ReplyDeleteLove the sunny yellow chairs. I featured your project in this week's Not So Ordinary link party! http://revamphomegoods.blogspot.com/2012/04/not-your-ordinary-show-tell-link-party.html
ReplyDeleteGreat job on making the chairs look so fresh and new! I love these chairs and have always wanted some! Thanks for linking this up!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I would love to find some old chairs to paint up for my outdoor area but haven't spotted anything yet. The turquoise is gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteI love how Adirondack chairs look, all the variations and colors, but I have learned if they are at a certain slant and I plop my behinder down in that style, it's hard to pull azzz back out!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
ReplyDeleteI found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
